Are these boards any good? Firingsquad gave them a pretty good rating. They only have 2 DIMM's though. Does that mean i can only put a limited amount of ddram onto the motherboard. Also, it doesn't have onboard audio. But that doesn't matter, cause Im going to put a sound card in anyway.

Thxs.

I just built 6 systems using that board. It's not bad. Pretty stable. It depends I guess on what you want to do - the nice part is that the mobo has switches on the board for CPU multiplier and core voltage. If you get the board though, make sure you don't use the default core voltage on the board - on all the processors I have put in, it always puts them right up to 1.85 V!!

Anyway, they are good - not too expensive too!:)

I've got 2 of them. Really like them. Of course, the chipset is getting dated. The kt266a chipset is faster, but I'm happy with my AMD chipset!

Check out all the reviews on the net about this board. Anandtech's review is a sheer anomaly (go see for yourself... something's amiss). My personal experience is that it made me a true convert (ok, not a convert, per se, but a respector) of AMD. I never thought I'd find anything as stable as my Intel BX + P2/P3 stability. I was wrong. Never crashes. Never hangs. No "things that make you go 'hmm'". Overall, a solid price/performance/stability balance. Heavy on the stability.
