They just signed Jake Plummer to a 7 year, 40 million dollar contract with a 13 million signing bonus.

:Q Yes, they are insane. I think Plummer can still be a successful QB in the NFL, but he has done nothing to justify that much money. Guess they really wanted him.

Before somebody starts ripping on my team, yes, I know the Cardinals suck.

Well, c'mon. They kept Griese for 4 years.

That's the guy Bill Walsh wanted to draft to be the future replacement of Steve Young for the 49ers. I think Walsh is a pretty good judge of talent at the QB position.

Thank God...I heard my Bears offered him a 7 yr/$35m contract and was crapping my pants in suspense. Thank you, Broncos!

plummer is an excellent QB, just been stuf on a crappy team for a long time. He has great arm strength. He'll fit in nicely with the broncos and is still fairly young.

He had a couple 3500+ passing seasons, just needs his INT rate down. That will come with proper coaching, play calling, and smarter receivers.

Ya but now the Bears are going to trade for Griese or get Kordell......Not a great situation either way IMO....

Since Miami has said they are not interested in Griese, you can bet the Bears will be in line.

Well, I heard their offer was actually better than the Broncos! Nonetheless, I'm glad the Bears didn't get him.

I hope they take Griese. He should've gone into business after college. What a joke.

Don't remind me. Screw Angelo and his issues with drafting a QB.

Walsh retracted those comments a few years ago. Marc Trestman, the offensive coordinator of the Raiders, was asked to compare Gannon to Plummer, and he basically said that Jake wasn't as intelligent as Gannon, that the Raiders were using the same playbook that Trestman had used as OC of Arizona, but with more plays because Gannon had more going on upstairs.

Exactly. He's a good quarterback, just hasn't had the line or receivers to make him better. It's all about the potential. Apparently they see something in him to make this kind of monetary commitment to him.

I disagree with the good QB part. He doesn't have the intelligence, nor patience. The last couple years, if you watch him play...you'd see that he made most mistakes on his own...not because of the team around him.

I don't think JP will ever be a good quarterback in the NFL.

Jake's biggest problem is he gets "tunnel vision" and locks onto his primary reciever. Often he will force a pass into double coverage with a second or third option open down field. That's why he throws so many picks.
