Are those computers on the front page of ibuypower or cyberpower that are $700 or less pretty good? As in able to play games on medium settings. And if I were to build those computers with the same parts, what would the price difference be? I'm currently on this 8 year old dell and I need a new comp to last me probably another 5+ years. I already have a monitor and accessories like mouse and keyboard.

I have two friends with systems from cyberpower, one of them has had no problems, the other one has had constant problems with his mobo and harddrive not working correctly.

I have order about 8 of them for clients in the past before I learned how to build and all of them worked really well. What those 2 companys do is use parts just like you would find on places like newegg.com and just build it for you rather then you building it yourself. like any custom build the only problems likely to happen is if you get a bad motherboard or power suppply or whatever piece of hardware that can happen at any place such as ordering at newegg you can sometimes get bad parts but that is not really the companys fault because it worked when they sent it out and yes I have heard that they can take 3 weeks to a month to replace parts if one is bad so that would be the only downside for the rare chance you get one that has a defective part. But most of time they seem to work great, with no bad hardware. SO like I said you'd just be paying them to build a system for you rather then going to newegg and building yourself and they charge about a 100 to 150$ fee for labor but use the same components you would find at newgg. I say if you don't want to build one yourself it is a great choice, far better than stuff like Dell, HP, Compaq, or gateway brands.

Sorry for my bad grammar.

I've had 4 aquantances use cyberpowerpc in the past. Only one machine was DOA, due to a heatsink coming off during shipment and destroying machine innards. So my opinion of them is pretty overwhelmingly positive.

Unless you're going to spend the stupid premium on something like voodoopc, falcon or alienware, ibuypower/cyberpowerpc is as good as it gets. $100-200 is cheap insurance if you are afraid of mucking around the innards of a PC.

Just like building it yourself, you have a pretty good selection of cases, boards, power supplies and graphics cards to choose from. Be sure to do your homework to know which parts work well with others to avoid heartburn when you get the machine.

Otherwise, just get an hpaq, e-machines or dell and upgrade the ram & video yourself.
