Are the Antec Truepower PSU's worth all the hype?

I recently bought an Antec 400w psu but recently noticed that these Truepower psu's with "dedicated output circuitry for each voltage" are popping up...I can still return the 400w that I have but I was wondering what people's experiences have been with these truepowers...are they as great as they make them sound (better stability b/c of less voltage load loss) or just hype?...

All the people that I've talked to that bought the TruePower are bery happy about it. It's very quiet but if you don't mind about the noise, stick with your current 400 watts.

I have the True330. Very nice. Variable speed thermal controlled fans. Plus it has connections for 2 other case fans that it can control the speeds as well.

I've got one. Very nice. Its quiet, and the power lines have yet to dip below their rated voltages.

You can actualy connect up to three case fans on the two fan only connectors. The manual says no more than three though.

I just got one of the 430watt true power ps's for free :) Antec sent me a bad p.s. with my 1030B and replaced it w/ a brand new 430. It's only been up for a day, but I'm LOVING it. This case is alot quiter than my addtronics was, and I only took out I fan. I'm guessing that the thermally controlled ps and case fans significantly reduce noise. Get one!

I sell the Antec's, Enermax, Sparkle & Dynapower (make the majority of Antec's PS) I am very mcu planning to add Zippy/Emacs as well.

The Sparkle & Emacs are cram packed with huge capacitors, heat sinks, and converter. There is NO room for that second fan like the Antecs & Enermax. A sparkle has the wieght of a brick because of all the high quality components within it.

Sparkle and Emacs lack the flash (dual fans, gold plated grilles, etc) but put their money into great components.

Chekc these supplies out at the mfg's web sites:

Hrmm looks like the Performance Plus line from Antec includes the Truepower PSUs...

Antec Performance Plus line I bet these will eventually replace the tried and true SX830/840/1030/1040 as the case of choice for many.

It will for me !
A quieter PSU, same great case design and on top of that USB/Firewire ports on the front for quick access. Can't really get better than that (except a 10xx without a door like the 8xx serie...)

There's not that much of a difference between the two case lines you know :)

I have a new Antec TruePower 550watt PS on my desk right now. Waiting for some time to swap out the Antec PP303X 300watt PS in my current rig. Should be able to get it done sometime this week, can't wait.

I agree. They are pretty neat and all, but I don't need a firewire port and I really liked the floppy opening on SX600 and SX800 series cases. I think they look much better than using the normal faceplate of the floppy. I do like the addition of the True Power PSU's and the front intake filter though. It looks like all they did was design new front bezel pieces. It looks like the cases themselves have not changed at all. I would bet the front fascia pieces of a PP case would snap rght on to the front of the SX cases. I wonder if the SX cases will ever start selling with True Power PSU's too?
