i heard, probably here, that the Opteron uses a different silicon process, and that the Opteron's OC better ... and i don't know the exact technical reason.
from the reviews for the 3800 single core am2 *** for $146 ?!
it sounds like they have serious OC'ing potential. guy is claiming 2900 + MHz and i believe him.

... though maybe some of that OC'ing performance is from the RAM ?
wonder if they'll come out with AM2 opteron's that will OC even better ...
