Are the 3-D or 5.1 "surround" headphones for real?

Anyone get to try these out? I'm looking at getting a new pair of headphones to replace some Sony CD player headphones (they are pretty good) and I saw some of the Kinyo 5.1 headphones and the Zalman surround headphones.

I'm looking at the SENNHEISER PX 100 OpenAir Dynamic Headphone s for $39.00.I guess i'd pay 50 for a pair if there was another pair that was that much better but these seem pretty good. I was sort of looking for a pair with a microphone on it for teamspeak but I don't see any good ones for around 40-50 dollars

Just trying to decide if I should try some of the surround sound ones for when gaming at LAN parties and such. The Kinyo 5.1 surround ones are the same price.

Thanks,
Rhin0

Yes but all this stuff is Smoke and mirrors cause we all have only 2 ears ...directional is up to the individual

LED,

good point. Those sony headphones off a discman were the best headphone I ever used. They were sturdy, fit great, and sounded awesome. I tried to buy a 10 dollar hold me over pair of Phillips today. I thought they would be decent but they fit like crap and they are flimsy. Good enough for now I guess. There are some CRAPPY headphones out there I know that

as for directional. I could honestly tell which direction someone was coming from with just the regular sony headphones, you just have to listen
