You mean the thousands of Teflon related deaths each year isn't enough to convince you they're not?

It is highly unlikely that Teflon is a problem. I would be careful to not heat it to the point it smokes though. The fumes from burning Teflon may not be so innocuous. Even so, the chances of you having a problem from pumping your own gas seem to be higher.
