Are Tablets secure and safe?

I don't have a tablet, but I am curious if they are at risk of getting attacked by the same thing as computers and smartphones. I imagine they must be, but I haven't heard anything on the subject.

oh, i'm sure they are but they aren't as common as PCs so they are probably not big targets at the moment.
