I have a 2013 CRV and it was making noise under the car, so I took it to my father in law who runs a body shop and there was a mechanic on hand that took a look.

Seems like a nut and bolt or something that holds the links is missing hence the noise.

Car as like 13k miles. It should be covered under warranty right ?

If you wanna get technical, it's actually not.

Bad part? Sure. 3 years/36k.

Bolt that holds said part onto the car falls off? Nope. 12 months/12k. Loose fasteners are covered under the 'adjustment period.' Same as squeaks and rattles.

Take it to the dealership and see. Since your car is only a year old and only has 13k miles, the dealership might cover it as a goodwill gesture even if it's not covered under warranty.

Honda's bumper to bumper is only 12k?

Just in case it's not covered, the sway bar link is only about $43 from one of several Honda dealers with online parts departments. If the link itself is fine and all you need is the bolt or self-locking nut, then the price is more like $1

It's a relatively easy install. If you have a jack, an allen wrench, and a regular wrench, you can replace it yourself. Given the low mileage on the car, I wouldn't expect any bolts to be really rusted on yet.

I'm not sure how what I wrote wasn't clear.

3/36 = standard warranty. 'Bumper to bumper' is a misnomer, as it does not literally cover anything that can be wrong with the car. It does not cover maintenance, wear and are tear, ect.

12/12 = 'adjustment period.' If you want to complain about an interior rattle, squeaky brakes, tire problems...technically it's supposed to only be covered within this period. Dealers will often just fix the petty shit, as it's easier to either eat the cost of the repair or put a white lie or two into the warranty write-up than it is to deal with an irate customer.

Loose fasteners are part of the 12/12 on pretty much every make, AFAIK.

I don't think loose bolts on any suspension component falls under the pretty shit category.
Go to the dealer and throw your hands up in the air "OMG I ALMOST DIED LET ME CALL MY LAWYER" and you'll get it fixed asap.

That's a failed suspension component, not an interior rattle.

My Mustang had a squeaky dash in my third year of ownership, fixed under warranty.

3 year bumper to bumper and 5 year power train is standard. Never heard of this 12 month adjustment period you speak of. Any loose nut, squeak or rattle is within the confines of both back and front bumpers? Should be covered.

it was covered under warranty. Told them straight up what my mechanics diagnosis was. They confirmed and replaced it.

good end result OP. glad they took care of you rather than try to rip you off with 12 months blah blah talk other dealerships likely would have given you

12 month adjustment period must be for Hondas only. Bumper to bumper for 3/36 for mine, 5/100 on powertrain.
