are steppings important on c2d?

I've been reading up

and I think its time for me to upgrade my A64 & agp 6800gt system.
(although.. there is absolutely no need to.. sigh..)

I've read through the e2xx0 oc thread and it seems e2140 + IP35-e would yield me the best o/c results.

since it will o/c around 3gig anyways..

but im wondering, is m0 stepping really important? or should any ol e2140 o/c about the same?

and is the clubIT the cheapest place to get it?

They should all be capable of roughly 3ghz...but M0s tend to run cooler and can be pushed a little further. I recommend you splurge and get an E2180 because they are all guaranteed M0 stepping from what I've read..

ah, so that's the key.

right now I am considering if I should wait for another frys combo or get it with quality abit mobo. Havent purchased abit since my good old BH6 with celly @ 950. which still runs!!! (but some problem with agp slot ).
