Just been looking into getting a Sony 19? CPD-G420 and wanted some input from you guys. Couldn?t find much when I searched the forum so I had a few questions I couldn?t get a straight answer on anywhere else.

1) Are those black lines that I have heard people talk about all that noticeable? Anyone happen to know of like a screen shot of a white background that could demonstrate how obvious they are? I fear I may buy it and won?t be able to stop thinking about them and always be looking at them.

2) How far back does the tube stretch? Space is becoming a bit of a problem on my desk and in screen shots, the tube doesn?t look to big but its hard to tell since the side of a monitor is not usually the thing that?s screen shotted in reviews.

3) All up is their image quality noticeably better than other monitors? Does it support high refresh rates at the higher reses well?

I hope to be looking at one in person in a few weeks but I just wanted to hear what any of you think.

Thanks.

Have you used a Trinitron monitor before?? If you haven't, you ought to go to BB or some computer store to take a look at it yourself. The two lines are not as visible as others make it to be. After all, it's a personal preference. :)

The picture quality is definitely better than any other monitor you can find in the market. :)

I have a G400 @ home and I love it. The scan lines are bearly noticable (at least to me) and the quality is just awsome... Great monitor!

Thanks guys, and I do hope to be looking at one soon. Any other opinions? And does anyone know of where I can get a list of its refresh rates at the main resolutions? Sony's website only says refresh rate at max res, and Google didn?t turn up anything.

Woops, didnt even really read your post. The little wires that make 2 slightly darker lines across the screen are indeed noticable however you get used to it and I dont see them unless im looking directly at them, and with any dark background they are nearly invisible. Theres just 2 of em anyway. Everything else is covered, even that was too but i had to put in my .02. The sharpness is excelent.
