I don't think that Developers will keep writing games
for single cores since the new consoles will have multiple
cores.I think that most games will be requiring multiple
cores a year from now. What do you think?

bs. multicores wont even be out for 6 month a year from now.
it'll take, about 1.5-2.5 years form today for devlopers to fully take advantage of multicores mainstream. then maybe 3.5 to 4.5 before multicores are required(provided amd and intel stop all single core production a year or 1.5 years form now.)

yeah i know. no way in hell the gam companies willl abandon 90% of the markert in 1 yar. daul cores wont be mainstream for a while. i mena look at the transition form pci to agp or socket A to socket 939. technology mass acceptance is slow.

I agree, single core will be around for a long time. And I doubt they will ever be completely replaced by dual core.

WTH is wrong with you Gamer X...Ofcourse most all games will start being coded for multithreading...donesn't mean they wont work in a single core....I mean TMPGenc and 3dmax love dual cpus and are multithrteading but they will use what you give them and run fine on all of the single core cpus now...games will be the same.

Single cores probably will be sold and manufacturered in some sense for about 2 more years then they will fade away and we will see quad cores.....

Writing apps for multthreading does not mean one or another. They will work better now on multicore cpus but they will still run on single cores as well...
