Are Seinfeld DVD Sets Really HD?

Does anybody have any of the dvd sets for seinfeld and are they really in high definition like it claims? I don't get/believe this because they (I'm sure) weren't broadcast in hd and you just can't up convert 640x480 to 1080i/720p. Somebody please help me.
