Are Sata 1 and 2 on ASUS K8N-E Dleuxe locked?

if they arent locked

then can i just move my HDD to 3 and 4? which btw are powered by a silicon image chip. do they just plug in a work normal or do i have to start making floppy disks with drivers?

I just did a quick Google, & it appears your assumptions are correct.

SATA 1 & 2 = not locked.
3 & 4 = locked.

As for moving the HDDs & drivers, i'm not sure TBH.

I may be wrong, but i'm thinking you could load the Silicon Image drivers thru the Device Manager, & then turn off PC. Then switch HDDs & restart.
I am not sure if this is alright though, so you may want to research that...
