Are Ritek DVD +R's really that bad?

I've been using Ritek 8X DVD +R's for a long time now with no coasters or problems at all. Now I am reading that recently the quality has decreased and people are avoiding them like the plague. If money weren't an issue I would get 8X Taiyo Yuden's but they are almost double the price. Are the Riteks really that bad to warrant paying double for TY's? Are there any cheaper alternatives to TY's?

YES about a year ago they changes DYE to AZO. Which is not a bad thing but the DYE that they went to is not so hot. But even worse than that manufacturing seems to have takes a turn for the worse. If you look in the middle hub area you will see bubbles and disc seperation. I have even had disc completely seperate into two pieces of plastic. Also others are reporting their data being lost within a year.

These are media bought at NewEgg and Amazon that are showing up as extremely poor media. So its not run of the mill places selling this media.

Its cheap enough to get TDK, VERBATIM, SONY now for a little more at your local Bestbuy, or circuit city. Go for the big brand name media.

I dont want to go a year and have my data start to fail.
