Are Redbuds Pet Friendly?

Can't seem to find anything through google to answer this. I want to plant redbuds in the backyard, but make sure dog would be ok with it.
 
I planted a small redbud in our backyard a couple of years ago. Later that day, my dog was running around with the whole thing in her mouth as though I had stuck a chew toy in the ground! Depending on what kind of dog you have, you might want to plant one to see if it destroys it. As far as being poisonous, the redbud does not appear on the ASPCA toxic-plant list.
