Are recent LG devices recommendable?

Friends need new-ish cheap-ish phones (otherwise I'd recommend the S7E, which is still my favorite toy ever). Besides the Chinese budget-premium stuff, I was thinking of LG V10/G5/V20 - which come at crazy low prices on Swappa - but am spooked by the bootloop issue. How widespread is it on post-G4 devices? Any other deal-breakers I'm missing?

Having a v10 and v20 I have had no loop issues. They are fine phones. Actually, I gave a post in for sales on my v10.

My lg4 is great. Would have liked to netted an lg5 upgrade free this year since I hear sales are down but no such luck. No flashy marketing like samsung but lg is still good stuff.

The LG G4 is an OK phone, but once you open it and put a thermal paste, it becames a tiger.
