Are Rebates Scandalous?

Thats why Staples rebates are the best... never had one not come back... and if it didnt i would know who to go after 😛

Rebates typically work for me..but they're usually slow. I sent a $6 Fuji rebate in back in February..they said I'll have it within 20 days of when they receive it. It came in a few days ago..postmarked a few days before that. There's no way it took 6-8 weeks to get to them...

I personally have always received rebates I've sent in for so I can't complain.

Same here. I've gotten back EVERY rebate, but there are some that I've had to call and fax stuff on though. Especially I/O Magic, those bastards are the WORST!!! It took 5 months, two faxes, two emails, and 4 phone calls to get my two rebate checks ($15 and $30), but I DID get them back.

Interesting enough, I've only had one problem with TCA (New Rochelle). They took over 5 months on a rebate. I PM'd the dude named TCArebates over at F@tWallet and my check was mailed the next day😛

I just be sure to keep copies (which I scan into my computer) of the receipt, rebate form, and UPC so that I have proof of everything. RebateStatus tried to screw me over on a $25 rebate for a Microsoft Optical mouse. They said that they never received it. So I gave them my receipt number, purchase price, and the UPC numbers (which I had all saved on my PC) and they re-entered it. Showed up on their online status a couple of days later saying that it was being processed 🙂

You just have to FIGHT for your money sometimes.

RebatesHQ is the best, but sometimes even they goof up. But all I have to do is just give them one quick call and they correct the problem right away.

yes they are scandalous. You really have to keep on top of them to ever see them come through. I had one that never came through - the company mysteriously 'folded'. Hmmm.

I had one denied from RebatesHQ today because I sent it in too late... but I didnt! :|

I found no phone number to call either:|

I say definately scamulous. Not only are you not likely to get your rebate any time soon, you can bet your ass that one of the driving factors in even offering a mail in rebate is so that you will send your snail mail address and other info so they can fill your box with junk mail and/or you can enjoy more calls from telemarketers.

i had a problem with my epson stylus color 880 that i got dirt cheap i think at dell a while back. since then, i dont think i've had to make any calls and have received all my rebates. 🙂
