I have a raptor drive and when it's doing a lot of work (ripping a dvd image, copying a large file) it is extremely loud. Is this right?
During idle is it pretty quiet. However, under load it is by far the loudest thing in my comp. I just wanted to know if I got a deffective drive or if this is the cost of a 10,000rpm drive. It seems like this is just part of having a raptor.Originally posted by: Tiamat
Not sure about the "extremely loud" but it does make quite a bit of racket when reading/writing. It should be quiet at idle though.
