Are Pop-Tarts geting smaller? POLL!

Hmm... maybe, because I remenber eating pop-tarts when i was a kid and i just got one now and it looks so small?
so it could just be me...but i don't think so..

No i think they are getting smaller. so are the pies at McDonalds! Everyone is just getting cheap now.:frown:

I wouldn't be surprised. All of that type of stuff (single serving snack foods) is getting smaller now. It's amazing how much a company can save by removing 1/4 of an ounce from a package of chips.

I dunno if they're getting smaller... but I know the vending machine that I used to get some at raised the price from 75cents to a dollar!!!! :|:|:|:|:|:|

And other things are getting bigger as well. In the past, would you really have had a tripple burger with bacon? You know, restaurants used to have "small" items on the menu, not just medium, biggie, and great biggie 😉.

I went a few years without, everyonce in a while I get on a poptart kick. I've got a box in the pantry, I haven't noticed any size changes. Could be wrong.

Lots of times the manuf will change the amount of stuff in the package. Usually they start this with a '20% free' type promotion which is generally the size of the package up until the latest downsizing. Then they ship the new smaller boxes at the same price the old boxes were. Now you are paying more for the same thing and you probably didn't notice the switch.

My favorite item price gouging was on saltine crackers. The smaller size box (half size) cost MORE than the big size box. Not per oz, the actual small item cost about .10-.15 more than the larger box.

Old folks bought the small box so there'd be less waste, or maybe because it fit better in their condo cabinets but regardless, they paid more for less.

I always wanted to see a big red sign on something that said 2 for the price 3. I'm sure people would not even notice.

Crack: It's Not Just For Breakfast Anymore. 😛

the bk whopper during their $.99 promo seemed smaller than i remember. and when they had those $.99 promo where each day was a different $.99 item, i noticed they shrunk their bk big fish sandwich as well.

I eat a lot of off-brand Pop Tarts - and usually like them better. For example, Wal-Mart has a good cinnamon Pop Tart equivalent that tates quite good when compared to the original. Plus, the cost is about 1/2. The off-brand Pop Tarts are the same size as the actual Pop Tarts, so I don't feel they're getting smaller at all.
