Are pIII cpu's picky about what kind of RAM you have?

RAM pickiness is generally due to motherboard/chipset, not CPU

Do you plain on O/Cing the CPU? If not you shouldnt have a problem.

No, I don't plan on o/c'ing.

You will be fine then. Just make sure your Motherboard supports what ever MHZ (Speed) CPU you install. Also I dont know if it matters or not but if your P3 is a coppermine make sure your Board supports coppermine CPU'S. If thats even a factor.

I have had 5 PIII's. Three were Coppermine and RAM was not an issue with any of them. I even tried some Centon PC100 CAS 3 and worked fine with 600 Katmai. I definitely suggest CAS 2 though. I have tried RAM from 5 different brands.
