I was addicted to them. I've seen The World's Wildest Police Chases countless times. I haven't seen one in awhile but I still love watching pursuits. You know it's going to end in a spectacular crash, the guy surrounded and yanked out of the vehicle by very angry police or the suspect tackled and 'cuffed. Great stuff!

you think innocent people whose cars get wrecked and pedstrians who nearly get mowed down for walking along a street is 'great stuff'???

while I agree that these chases are a necessary evil (and totally despise those @sshats that would rather let the criminals get away than risk a high speed pursuit), I would hardly say that is 'great' stuff...

maybe i'm being too sensitive, but its gotta suck insurance wise for people who are driving along and then get smacked by some idiot running from the cops...

it sucks that the cops can't just beat the sh!t of 'em when they catch them though...that might make it worth watching...

/end of rant.

I don't think innocent people getting hurt is "great stuff" in the least. I was referring to the criminals getting their just rewards in the end. Hell, my sister was almost broadsided by some asshat fleeing the police and she lives in a rinky dink town. I would not have thought that was great but seeing him flung on the ground and tossed in a squad car would have been.

People are sad, and TV perpetuates situations that sensationalize the worst aspects of our culture. *sniff :(
