i have friends that live the country and in the city. the ones in the faster lane seem less caring, less likely to keep in touch, or get together. i guess the dog eat dog of the city makes them colder and more indifferent.

People in rural areas depend on each other more. You have the preacher, the guys at the repair shop, Lurlene that works at the gas station, etc. You see the same 30 or 40 people everyday.

In the city there are millions of people. They don't get as close to people, because there are so many of them.

what chaotic said and i guess another part of the reason is the faster life style. you just don't have the time and energy to care about things like that.

This less caring business isn't going to change much especially with the communication gap closing around the world. More people to deal with less time to cultivate relations.

You have personalities that take people to either place... not necessarily the other way around.

I'm sure you know people who love "the city" but live in suburban/rural areas...

i dunno, i feel like my friends probably think i don't care about them either because i'm always too busy to do stuff. it's not that i don't care, it's just that i don't have the time to show it.
