Are P180s worth it or should i go with a lian li?

Considering that you have to have a psu with pretty long cables, i am beginning to think this case may not be worth it. I like how it looks but it doesn't have a side window which is fine. How is the cooling compared to a Lian-Li PC7B PLUS or is a P180 better?

I personally have not tried the PC7B you mentioned, however the P180 is one of the best air cooled cases available on the market today.

I did take a quick look at the PC7B. As far as features go, the P180 has it beat hands down. No drive rails, no removable cages, and from that some of the reviewers said, it's pretty cramped with some motherboards. Lastly, it looks (by picture) as if it uses 80mm fans instead of 120mm.

Yes, the P180's are a little quirky because the PSU compartment is on the bottom, but keep in mind, it was designed this way so that it would be one of the coolest cases available. I just replied to a thread a few minutes ago regarding PSU's for the 180. The Antec NeoPower 480 is a perfect fit as far as cable length's go.

You can always buy extensions and fit whatever PSU you want in it. There is also a new PSU coming out by Antec that will fit the P180 perfect, price isn't available yet though.

The PC7B PLUS can be had w/2x120mm fans for about $110.

Extensions on the ATX 20pin or EPS 24pin or ATX 4pin power plug are trouble just waiting
to happen. I will be amoung many who will say"i told you so" ;-)
Solution? Hard wire to extened cabling.

My solution was to buy a more "traditional" styled ATX case. Specifically, I bought a Lian Li PC-7BW Plus from SVC.com. It is black with a side window and has 120mm fans front/rear. Should arrive Thursday 11/6. 🙂

All the Antec PSUs work fine with the P180. And the Antec Truepower 2.0 line is among the best PSUs around. I would go for the P180 and a TPII if I were you 😀

I was looking at the neopower but 480 watts may be a little too little wattage for me and i would rather have the cables be long than short...Its as close to completely modular as you can go without getting a $hitty ultra and we now know modular is bad very bad for power. It looks nice and is easy to set up but you will usually lose power in the long run...I think i will go with a TPII or a phantom one of the two...
