My 25 ms LCD is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm considering buying this monitor as an upgrade. I'm pretty sure this display is the one for me, but I've read through the customer reviews and found that the (rare) problems tend to involve small clumps of dead pixels in the middle of the screen. Now, this may be an overeaction, but I am very frightened of getting a non-returnable monitor with a glaring flaw right in the center. I would assume that Newegg's $39.99 "1 Year Service Net Replacement Plan" would protect me from any dead pixel issues, but do all of you think that getting it would be worth it? As I said, the most prevalent issues with the LCD are rare but highly visible.
On a semi-related note, is there a monitor out there that's similar to but better than the 940b? My ideal choice would be sub-$350 with low response time, good contrast ratio, 1280x1024@75Hz and DVI. I'll be using whatever I get in a gaming setup.
