Are my temperature readings WAY off?

I have a 1700+ Tbred overclocked to 166*10.5. At full load, Epox's temperature reading thingy says its about 30-40 C but as I was using it a few minutes ago, my system shut down from what appears to be the overheating protection (my motherboard is an 8rda). The manual says this measure should kick in at 110 C. Maybe it was something else but what happened fit what the manual said would happen exactly: system appears on but obviously is not, case speaker beeps at me, and I cannot restart. Anyways, is it something else or whats going on w/ the readings?

Thermalright SK-6 w/ the 7000 rpm delta. Silicon should still be working at the boiling point of water as I understand so 110 sounds reasonable at least...

I readjusted the HSF and it hasnt come up again but its still odd that my temp readings are off so much that one says 40 C and the other says (lets say Epox implemented a conservative shutdown temp despite the manual) at least 90 C.
