Are my fishsticks gonna be ok?

Bought another large bag of fishsticks (man those are the best), from Costco for about $13. Last night I cooked some and went to bed. 6 hours later when I got up I found out I had left them on the counter. They were still pretty cold but had mostly kinda thawed

I know it's not good to thaw, and refreeze. I really don't want to throw this whole bag of goodies out.

Frozen again now. Will it kill me or make me sick if I eat them now? Frozen again now.

If you cook it, I'm pretty sure it won't really hurt you. If they truly went bad, after cooking them and then eating them, at worst you might get a food poisoning of sorts that just gives you a stomach ache for a day. I can't see it really 'hurting' you though. Some discomfort, sure... but that's the worst I envision. Besides, fish sticks aren't exactly pure, with preservatives and all that good processed stuff.

For sure, you won't be able to put them into your aquarium and regrow them into live fish.

They are fine. Re-freezing will alter their freshness and shorten their safe life slightly, but you will have loong finished the lot before they become bad for you.

by any chance was that an alternator shaped box of fishsticks?

Naw it was a big resealable bag. Good to know I won't need to throw them out. I'll eat em up as soon as I can.

If I die I'll troll this forum forever

mmmm, undesirable cod pieces and parts. i would say they'd be OK to eat after being out.... in the sun.... for a week.

Thanks all, didn't die or get sick, after eating a bunch last night.

According to the package, these are made from whole fillets of wild Alaska Pollock, and are the best fishsticks I've ever eaten

No contest to run of the mill sticks in the average grocery store. I'll try not to troll

Aside from the idea that fish sticks couldn't get much worse from the minute you bought them, I'd say eat them.

I dunno why you guys are saying this without trying them. Really, if you belong to Costco, give em a try. They are wayyyy better than any you have eaten.

I'd eat it, no problem.

I think the operative word is fishstick. I kind of like my seafood to have some resemblance to actual fish.

If it came from a freezer you won't have an issue eating them after they've been sitting on a counter for only SIX hours.

MagnusTheBrewe, I agree, however, some of us live far from the oceans. And I would much rather eat frozen fish in the advertised Alaska whole Pollock fillet, than cod parts, or advertised "fresh from the sea". Not gonna happen here.

PHiuR, agreed at this point.
