Are my fingers fat?

I was on ebay trying to shop for some stylish rings for myself and i didn't know my ring size... i measured the circumference of my ring finger and it came out to 3 inches and they didn't seem to have any rings that would fit me. Is that normal? I always viewed my fingers as being too skinny... wtf

edit: oops, it said to measure the base of the ring finger... that'll make it a bit smaller.
