In the last month I have build systems from an ECS K7S5a, ASUS K7M266 and now a Shuttle AK31 they all fit, with NO room to spare. the back edge of the mobo is just touching my HD bay. They cannot get any bigger!

I agree. Also when looking at the specs for MBs, their size specs
don't match the pics. I always look at the pics and the screw holes to
the side of the memory slots. Some boards are extending 2-3" beyond
the holes. Much too close to the 5 1/4 drives..............

I was thinking the same thing when I got my A7V133. I cannot put the CD Burner or DVD drive in 5.25 bay 3 and 4 as some capacitors are in the drives path to make it flush on the outside of a mid tower case. I did not have this problem with the CUV4X I had previously. Now I am thinking of getting a full tower, maybe the HX08, on my next rig.

Nope, if it can't fit into an Antec SX830 then something's seriously wrong! :)

Also, the my old Enlight 7237 can fit some suprisingly large boards in it i've noticed...

Just had a customer come to me because their new motherboard/case etc would not work. Looked inside the case and discovered (to my delight - real easy to diagnose) that in order to get the CD all the way into the case he'd smashed several components off the board by pushing with all his might.

I did actually have a customer earlier who had shaved his motherboard in order to get it to fit with the CD.

Just shows that you've got to match your mobo to the case!

I had to buy a Globalwin 802 case because my cd drives were covering the RAM slots on my old KT7A :(

This new case is SOOOO good however - thumb screws, slide out motherboard tray, fan funnel to distribute air evenly, filter to stop the intake of dust, and can handle any sized board seen so far.

I shudder at the thought of seeing that one....

The Fong - Kai 320 and the Globalwin (Yeou - Chih) YCC-802, 801 are about 1.5" or so deeper ...... (front to rear) ......... than many other cases ............. measuring at 18.5" (not including plastic bezel).
