Are Mohammadens Apocalyptic?

I know that certain Christian sects are always looking for signs of the 'end times' and are always proclaiming that its just around the corner. In fact, some want the end times to be 'hurried along' to bring on the second coming of Christ. Some even support the Jews rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem so that the prophecy would be fulfilled.

Anyhow, I was wondering if the Muslims (or Mohammadens if you will) have similar end times scenarios. Anyone here care to enlighten?

Yes since Islam is just a more recent retelling of The Old and New Testement Bible.

Jesus is supposed to come down and fight against the Anti-Christ in Islams version. Then everyone will become Muslims =)))

cute, but 'Mohammaden' is a correct, albeit seldom used term.

Aren't you Iranian? I know not all Iranians are Mohammedans, but most are...

I have never thought of 'Iranian' as a proper term for a people, just as 'Yugoslavian' and 'Czechoslavakian' and 'Soviet' aren't descriptive of a people either. So, no, I do not consider myself Iranian, but I consider myself Persian, and a Christian Persian at that. Only because the country of Iran is composed of predominately Persians, but there is a contingent of Kurds, Turkomans, Armenians, Assyrians, Baluchis and Arabs in the country Iran 'proper' as well.

Yeah, but they're all still Iranian. Persian was a term a lot of Iranians started using as a result of the backlash they faced in the 80s. A black, white, brown, or yellow person from America is still an American. As are the different races and ethnic groups found in India. They are all still Indian...

In any case, are you a born again or something or has your family always been as far as you know? I'm curious.

sorry, I disagree. If someone calls me Iranian, I correct them. I knew of a Kurdish fellow who in your mind is also "Iranian" and if you called him that, you might get a fat lip....

My family has always been. Christians do exist there.

Cool. Man, I can only imagine how it is for you guys...

are they coptic christians, like in syria? i'm a bit fascinated by it all...

Thank God you don't live in a Sunni Muslim state like Pakistan!!

My Zoroashtrian friends tell me those people were VERY, VERY cruel. The Bahai people aren't too fond of them either.

Interesting that you have an issue with your nationality. My sis and I discussed this a few weeks ago. She's got this middle-age Iranian man who likes her a lot and likes to hang out with her (LOL! She's way younger). He told her that Iranians saying they are "Persians" is rubbish. They are Iranians. I have to agree with him. I think that it is similar to someone saying "I'm not German. I'm Prussian"; or "I'm not American. I'm White.

Basically, the fact is, you're Iranian. Iranian describes your nationality. Persian is a description of your ethnic background. It is only relevant if someone cares to know Iran's demographic. Romanians are Romanians even if they're gypsies.
