OK, i am posting this yet again -- I originally posted this to the "off topic" forum becasue a mod in Hot Deals said that's where this belongs, but then when i did what he told me, I was locked, without explanation. I posted another thread to off topic asking why I was locked, that was locked too but at least I was told my post would be welcomed in this forum. So here I go, although given taht I see similar threawds to mine are bing locked even here, I'm more confused than ever.
<< An update (?) of the Hot Deals forum rules were just posted. In this post was written:
<< No thread crapping. If the subject matter of deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread. No thread crapping.
Possibly the worst examples we have had of this have been in posts for free religious items, such as bibles, etc. If you want to discuss religion, or any other such non-computer topic, do it in our Off Topic forum. The discussions in that forum cover a wide range of topics, but needless flaming and rude, mean-spirited posts are not welcome there, either.

recently the mods have taken to locking (or even all out deleting!) any hot deals with a religous angle, including one I think of the very example above, a free bible. Now, I am just confused, or doesn't the fact that the forums rules themselves use an example of a free bible hot deal post to talk about discourteous REPLIES to hot deal posts, doesn't it implicitly define a free bible post as a VALID got deal?
I personally don't really care about these religious hot deals, I don't post them nor do I think I am likely to pursue them. But call me a ACLU sympathizer, I don't like to see what I consider as censorship -- or at the VERY LEAST, if there is going to be censorship, I would like it to at least be in the open, and that censorship to be CONSISTENT with the stated policies of the censors! >>
MODS, IF YOU ARE GONG TO LOCK THIS, WHEN YOU DO AT LEAST ANSWER THE QUESTION AND EXPLAIN HOW YOUR ACTIONS ARE NOT INCONSISTENT WITHG YOUR OWN POLICIES. It sure seems that way to mel!
