Are mesh trucker hats taking over the world, or just SoCal?

I live in San Diego and lately I have noticed, at least at the beach, just about everyone between the ages of 16 and 25 are wearing mesh trucker/baseball hats. Is it just here or are they all over the place? They look kinda good on a hot chick in a bikini, or maybe its just the hot chick.
 
Retro and vintage clothing has been on the upswing for a couple years now. Apparently vintage trucker hats are part of this renaissance as well, which in turn make it cool to wear them.

 
I've been wearing baseball hats for 20 years am I in style now? 😱 Is the redneck look in vogue now? 🙂

Funny thing is, i think the john deere hats are teh most popular, especially since Aston kutcher was seen wearing one.
