I am the Uber-liberal!!!!!!!!!!

It does seem to me that liberal people usually have logical reasons for their beliefs and that if you argue with a really conservative person about something they believe, in they end up only being able to give you that, "well I just believe this way" after you refute their facts and unevolved way of argueing............pretty much because they are uber-stupid anal people.

The embassys, Marine Corps Barracks, ships and of course the WTC that were bombed / blown up , are all considered "American Soil." Pearl Harbor should be included, but apparently falls out of the "50 Year" window.

I wish they'd bring back the draft ... or maybe make a couple years of military service mandatory. I'd give some folks a better perspective regarding "what's good for the group" versus "what's good for me."

Many of the liberal beliefs held by the younger crowd tend to go away after they're out of school and working for a while (I include myself in that assesment). Seeing ~1/3 of your paycheck disappear in one kind of tax or another tends to reduce the entheusiasm to support programs that will tend escalate that figure.

My personal observation is that most folks that scream "Someone needs to do something about ......" usually mean "Someone ELSE needs to do something about ....." are all hat and no saddle, and would serve society better just keeping their mouth shut. Showing support by flapping your gums is cheap, showing support by picking up a shovel and working (i.e., doing something other than running your mouth) is more worthy of respect. IMO, do something - make yourself useful, or STFU. There's enough noise in the world.

I haven't been able to keep up with the news the last few days, but I suspect that if a group of protestors showed up on the Berkeley campus protesting the protestors by wearing Red, White, & Blue and saying a prayer for the recent fallen, they would catch a lot of negative crap from the "wear white / no religion" group ... who seem to be all in favor of freedom of speech (and freedom of/from religion), as long as you are saying the same thing that all the other spongy-headed sheep on campus are saying.

The same holds true for any side of an issue: Opinions held and expressed independant of personal thought and/or experience, are hollow and weak.

FWIW

It would be interesting if someone did a geographic poll to find out where everyone is from and how they consider themselves (liberal/conservative).
