are LCD's good for watching TV/DVD?

I wonder is it possible to use LCD as a second display to the dualhead graphic
cards for watching of DVD/TV while working? Is it fast eneugh?

... but if you have an LCD and a CRT side by side, I'd suggest you work on the LCD and put the TV
onto the CRT.

I have an LCD and watch DVD's on it all the time, really good pictures. Actually just watched Air Force One SuperBit Version yesterday, really rocks with my Klipsch 4.1's! If you get an LCD with a good refresh rate and contrast ratio I would think an LCD would be just as good if not better than a CRT for watching TV/DVD.

yes I would like to use my CRT for work because of the 1280x1024 resolution I need
and side by side watch some TV or DVD's on the LCD.

I would like to buy me the SONY S51 LCD 10ms rise time response, 20ms fall time respons,
is it fast enough?
