I'm still using a 17" crt, but I was starting to think about getting a 19" crt because my eyes are gradually going bad and I now have practically put my eyes on the screen to read text. this couldn't be good for my health.
keep in mind I have a very nice, sharp one as far as crt's go (samsung 700IFT, paid >$300 for it)
are lcd's to the point now where I could get a good 17" for about the same $$$ as a nice sharp 19" crt?
> one thing I'm definitely wondering about is if the viewing angle is very good on them now....because I hate that effect you see on most of them where the image is sort of unsolid looking because your eyes see a slightly different brightness due to the viewing angle problem. also, I know this gets worse the closer your eyes are to the screen, and I'm probably going to be putting my eyes pretty close to it.
other than that I want:
accurate colors because I do a bit of graphics (I know lcd's are notoriously bad at this. should I consider getting lcd for text, but keeping an extra crt for graphics?)
-and-
a decent rise/fall time. (I don't know what kind of numbers I need. I don't play games, but my friend had an old gateway lcd and it was really annoying because whenever you scroll, the text would smear up the screen. I just want to avoid that.)
