Or is every trucking company too cheap to properly maintain the things?

Unrelated:
Should my neighbors Yukon be squealing or is she also a cheap bastard?

I've always wondered the same thing. They sound exactly like the brakes on my s2000 when ive worn off the transfer layer. But it has racing compound pads. I doubt those trucks use those too

It's a combination of normal factors coupled with being an immensely heavy vehicle.

Cheap pads don't have a quality compound...people who install said cheap pads are often 'pad-slapping' rotors that are already covered in grooves, hot spots, ect...and often throwing away hardware they deem unnecessary, i.e. shims. And they don't clean anything or use lube.

Add those possibilities to people riding their brakes and glazing up the pads until it starts to feel like you're trying to stop three tons by mashing two panes of glass together.

Squeak.

I've no doubt the bitch next door is riding the brakes on her Yukon. We were chatting about cars one day and she honestly didnt know automatics can change gears.
Apparently she never asked anyone what the 2-1-L were on her transmission.
