Now I am use to desktop PCs and know quite a bit about them. When it comes to laptops I know enough to get me by but not much.
I just got a Compaq Evo N600C Laptop today with the following specs
Pentium 3 1.2GHz
256mb PC133 SO-Dimm
Radeon 7000 32mb AGP4x
Now the 256mb is one stick. I want to upgrade it to maximum supported or near maximum with either 768mb or 1024mb of ram. I have read that some laptops are picky with what brand of ram they use.
Is this true and do I need to buy Compaq branded ram or can I get some Kingston/Generic Ram from ebay for MUCH less?
