I picked up a Dell Latitude e6510 and it has a 1366x768 screen. Other models of the laptop have 1600x900 and 1080p screens. It may be a dumb question but they should be useable on my device right?
Depends. The issue for going higher resolution is if it uses single-channel or double-channel lvds. Single-channel can't support higher than 1366x768 but it is possible that Dell used the same cable and setup as the higher res models.
I upgraded my dell e6420 to a 1600x900 screen from the 1366x768, it required a different cable, the cable that it came with, the 1600x900 screen would display right until I got the correct cable
