Are laptop screens a little lighter on the bottom than top?

Hi, I've had this lappy about a month, an Acer 4000WLCi ... got it mainly for the price and battery life, but I notice the screen is a little lighter/brighter on the bottom than the top. One person told me this was typical... but he also worked at the shop, so is this true? any help would be appreciated, thanks

Sometimes depends on the viewing angle?

I used an old company Toshiba whose LCD was unevenly lit, but I think it was just old.

BTW, my Acer 2012's LCD appears to be even.

Well the blacklight is typically on the bottom of the LCD. So technically it can be brighter but the light is supposed to be reflected by a piece of white plastic to cover the entire screen area. Now depending on the screen manufactuer you can actually have multiple cathodes on the top and bottom or even all 4 sides.

I've never really seen a badly lit LCD on any laptop but maybe I'm just lucky.
