IMO, Klipsch's are good for games----I don't like them for music. The bass is too exaggerated for my tastes. Cambridge, Monsoon, or Boston are better for music---again, IMO.

Anandtech doesn't give them their gold award because they suck, don't you think?

we all know they rule, but its for a computer. Would u spend the same money for cpu and speakers? I just think their a lil too much for a computer, if ur looking for hi-hi audio and sh!t just listn to stuff on a home system.

Well then that's very subjective. They make my computing expierience much nicer. So to me yes they are worth it, but to you they may not be. Just get the BA4800's, they are less expensive and everyone that has them likes them, but again that is very subjective.

I own a set of 4.1s, and they're better than any other set of speakers I've ever heard attached to a PC. If you use your PC as a stereo as well, you can't go wrong with getting these speakers.

be careful bout those $199 4.1 systems from best buy.. if those are the old ones, they ain't worth it. I have not heard the new 4.1s, but the v2-400s (orginals) were great for gaming... but after a while, i found them lacking in music (and dvd). I have some crap midilands which acutally don't sound all that bad for $15 :) When I have money to buy a new sound card (why did aureal have to bite the dust:(), i'll get the BA4800's prolly.. or by that time.. somethin else :)

They are loud as hell, and sound ok. If you want clarity, I'd suggest another brand. I tried to make myself like the Klipschs, but they just don't sound good enough. They will definitely blow you away, volume-wise.
I ended up buying Altec ATP3's. They won't go quite as loud as the Klipsch, but there's no way anyone can listen to them side by side and think the Altec's don't sound better.
The Boston Acoustics and Cambridge soundworks also sound better then the Klipsch.

I heard them at best buy and I thought they rocked! I'm pretty happy with my altec acs45.2s though.

Take a look around, I hear they are great... But I got new Cambridge DTT3500 5.1's for $215 shipped...

They are loud enough to piss off the neighbors, work with a bazillion inputs (have optical to them now) a remote and they sound pretty damn good with my Hercules Game theatre XP... And DVD rocks thru these things....

They also get pretty good ratings...

It all depends on what your doing with your system, mine has my vcr hooked thru the tv card and a dvd player. its is my complete entertainment center in my apartment room...

Works for me, and its cool to be across the room and crank the volume with the remote

wow, this thread is great... I've always wanted a comparison of klipsch vs DTT3500.

I never knew that cambridge sounded better klipsch... I guess I'll be grabbing some cambridge speakers by the end of the summer. :)
