Are IBM Keyboards compatible with any other computer other then an IBM?

They're compatible with about every PC desktop, but some desktops aren't compatible with all keyboards. Intel chipsets seem to handle about everything, but VIA's don't, maybe because of bad BIOS programming (Asus boards have worked when FICs with the same south bridge haven't). VIA's south bridge will also fail AMI's old keyboard diagnostic.

If you're going to buy a genuine IBM/Lexmark 101 keyboard, the kind that clicks, try to get the type with the 3-chip controller inside it because it seems to be more compatible than the 2-chip versions. Later IBM keyboards are by NMB (no click), but compatibility varies by version, just as it does for NMB branded products.

I'm thinking about getting this one one for my new black top desk.

It looks nice, but the palm rest seems to split in two at the keypad.

I might also choose this one because it looks darker, but I'm worried the arrows are too far down, so it will make it uncomfortable to play FPS' or other things with the arrow keys where the space bar, or other keyboard keys are needed.

The price isn't really a concern since I'm paying $70 for a white microsoft keyboard either way, and would rather have a black or semi-black keyboard

Man, those IBM keyboards are expensive. I have a Microsoft Natural Elite. I really like it and Microsoft has stood by their hardware products very well.
