Are hard-drive based MP3 players ok for working out?

I think the bigger hard drive players (20gb and onwards) won't be too happy bouncing around, but smaller ones like the iPod Mini are okay (otherwise, why were there armbands made for it?).

I'd go with the solid state players regardless, they are usually smaller and lighter. HDD based players have shortened lifespans when bounced around a lot. If I'm not mistaken, most of them state in the warranty information that such phsyical ativities void the warranty. I know my old Creative Nomad 10GB did.
