are gp's supposed to check your prostate if you're still in your early 20's?

Should the FDA ban oil checks on young men by creepy doctors?

This was just a physical for school. Why did that punk ass check my oil back then, I thought the age was 45. 😡

Mine was checked when I had my mustering out physical from the Navy, I was 23.

Of course now in my 60's, it's every year.

Well, while he was checking your prostate, was he simultaneously checking your testicles, and did this check last for about 10 minutes? If so, there is a slim chance it was not legit.

You know you loved it Hulky.

Truthfully, it was uncomfortable. I just accepted because I didn't know any better back then. But now that I look back, I think to myself that it was not right...why the fuck would you check a 22 year old for an enlarged prostate? 😡

Depends on family history or other symptoms I suppose. My cousin started getting regular colonoscopies when she was a teenager, but her mother died of colon cancer before she was 30, so.

Probably depends on the GP. When I was that age I had many physicals by different GPs. Some did the sweep. Others did not.

You're embarrassed because it moved, aren't you?

Those hot pink assless chaps you wore, that knowing smile. Please come to terms with your part in this.
Pink chaps? Yeah, he was asking for it.

On a more serious note:
inappropriate = cupping;

Went to Army doctor at age 31 for a physical and asked her if she was gonna "do the deed". She told me they stopped checking young Soldiers because there were quite a few that were misdiagnosed and they did surgeries that left them unable to "perform" if you catch my drift.

So, if the Army isn't doing it until age 40, I don't know why civilian doctors would. Of course, this was like 7 years ago now, maybe the rule has changed again.

I had a friend that said he gets one during every physical due to some strange problem that caused one of his testicles to... tie itself in a knot... or something to that fact. The overall situation can be summed up with: D:

Other than that, I had a nurse practitioner walk in for a physical when I was 22-23ish. One of the first things she said was, "we're not going to be doing a prostate exam, those start much later." Kind of made me go 😱 to even think that it was possibly on the table. Maybe she had a previous patient that asked about it, or something.

I don't know whether to be relieved or offended.. No military doctor or regular doctor has ever snapped on the gloves and had me turn around....

FWIW, making this into a joke / implying some gay association for this check might cause someone to not have this seriously looked at. Prostate cancer is not a joke and early detection is key for survival.

Yeah it's probably endlessly fucking hilarious to make gay jokes out of it I'm sure if you're 12 years old, but this is actually pretty srs bsns. This is more for others reading than the OP, who makes endless gay reference threads
