Are geeks more prone to depression?

Thats a good quesiton.

I think hardcore geeks are not depressed becuase they know they are geeks and are fine with that. They love computers..have a few geek friends that they hang out with all the time, and have a lot of friends on the interent. Only think they lack are the ladies..and some are ok with that..

I think the geeks...that arnt hardcore...that WANT to be popular, have a hot girl friend, and play sports are the depressed ones.

social isolation is VERY depressing.

I was so happy last night. And then I realized that my therapy session is next Wednesday. :Q

Here's to another week of doing nothing but wallowing in my own self-pity:  Hope I don't have another anxiety or panic attack or other bout of hypochondria.

And I need sleep. Maybe I should get some.

Hmm, I think full-blown depression would only occur if they had absolutely no source from where to get any type of satisfaction. And the term "geek" already implies an extreme affection for the COMPUTER and all that entails- i.e. INTERNET, GAMING, PORNOGRAPHY; all very fulfilling in their own right. So , to the OP - a hearty and resounding "NO." Where there is a cat5e cable, there you will find a happy geek.

No. We're never bored, for one thing. There's always something to do on the computer. Also, we're smarter and make more money. 🙂
