Don't floppy cables have that little crossed over part?

i think i know what crossed part you're talking about, and i dont have any like that, which is weird cause i've had a floppy on my computer before.

They're not the same width. floppies have 34 pins, IDE cables have 40. Try plugging a floppy cable into an IDE drive.
