iPhone: 3G was the first out in Canada and I bought it shortly after. Served as a faithful workhorse during my days as a shuttle driver. No regrets there.

iPad: Came in sceptical but ended up loving it.

PS4: I was lucky to get it before the price increase but I do regret buying it at times. Damn thing has no decent games over a year after launch. I don't know why it sells as well as it does. In hindsight, I should have spent the $400 on PC upgrades.

PS Vita: Was fantastic at launch and I loved it, but the lack of support since then has been painful.

Nintendo 3DS: I got it on sale just before the price cut in the summer of 2011. So I still qualified for the ambassador program. I would have been pissed had I paid the full $250 though at launch. It was never worth that kind of money.

Blackberry Playbook: $500 + $50 accessories - $100 Gift Card

I probably used the thing less than 10 hours total, sold it to a friend for $150 a year later. The hell was I thinking?

The same thing I say about my iPad and two android tablets? Total wastes of money.

I stopped buying 1st gen of anything after the 360. I got the 360 (for Gears of War) that didn't even have an HDMI port,.. and came with 20GBs of HDD space. I bought it without thinking, since I wanted to play Gears of War so badly. I also bought a 1st gen DS. And PSP.

Since then, I've waited. I waited for the PS3 to drop down in price and get slimmer. I waited for the Wii U to lower in price & get packed with games.

I am not buying a XBox One or PS4 until maybe 2 to 3 years from now. I didn't touch the PSP Vita. I am not touching the new 3DS. I learned my lessons. Plus, on the consoles, they aren't even backwards compatible - and I don't have enough space to give to 2 Microsoft and 2 Sony systems, it's a little ridiculous.

I used to buy the newest or newer things when I was younger and dumber. That money wasted during youth could have been invested and turned into much more. I have a bad habit of buying laptops, you can actually buy off dell outlet or lenovo outlet and all the machines I got were brand new, only had to wait a few months plus I got a larger community to test out all the quirks before I bought.

New tech a few months late at a much lower price.

That's also when my brother and I got the iPhone. The first one was ridiculously priced, considering its complete lack of useful features.

iPad: Came in sceptical but ended up loving it.
I waited until the mini was released. Loved it.

Had no idea there was a price increase. I got my own PS3 Shortly after launch (sold my 20GB and 60GB launch units).

PS Vita: Was fantastic at launch and I loved it, but the lack of support since then has been painful.
Before and after the PS Vita launched, I saw no possible way for it to succeed. Spending hundreds for the system and games when most of us already have smartphones and tablets -- that's a hard sell.

Nintendo 3DS: I got it on sale just before the price cut in the summer of 2011. So I still qualified for the ambassador program. I would have been pissed had I paid the full $250 though at launch. It was never worth that kind of money.
My brother did the same thing. Bought it just when there was news of a pending price drop. After the price dropped, he got the retailer to adjust it and refund the difference. Got in on the ambassador program.

Then he bought the "*NEW* 3DS XL" at launch just a few weeks ago.
