Are digital cellular phones secure?

Well, you can't just listen in with a Radio Shack scanner if that's what you're asking.

i know that much. but is there any encryption on the things?

I don't think you have to worry about everyone in the world listening in on your conversation, or having to worry about
what information you provide on the phone.

On a side note, cell phones are not approved for use when talking about classified material (US Government). However
neither are normal lan line phones. So you can draw you conclusions from that.

right, but the question isn't what probably won't happen, but what is ethical.
