Maybe if liberals didn't create NAFTA and repeal Glass-Steagall and do 911 and make us go into Iraq and crash the economy and create ISIS and constantly try to implement Sharia Law and build so many abortion emporiums and force children to get sex changes and allow people to use whatever bathroom they want, it wouldn't come to this. When liberals stop acting so crazy and come back to reality like our patriotic conservatives we can start talking again.

This shit sounds like something right out of the 0bama administration. What in the hell is the world coming to? What's next, the IRS and the DOJ being used as political weapons?

It's always amazing to see the outrage when the other team decides to play by the same rules.

Yes, scary to see the current administration using the tactics that conservatives accused the previous administration of using without evidence.

People like boomerang fascinate me for this reason. He caught so far up in a delusional fantasy world that he probably actually believes this is what Obama did, meaning what Trump is doing now is just more of the same.

It's hard to know how to deal with people this divorced from reality. They justify real actions using actions they made up in their heads.

The only way is time and hope. Keep providing factual information and hope that one day enough has seeped in to reach critical mass. The more you actively try to educate, the more resistant those wary of the "intellectual elite" become. Many people do not want to be proven wrong by others, because they view it as a defeat (see our president...), they need to come to it on their own in time (although perhaps never). It's frustrating, for sure.

Does it matter who did what? This is our government, we should hold it to a higher standard than this. If the Republicans are no better than this then why support them?

From the Politico story:
Republicans said that President Barack Obama’s administration was not always quick to respond to them and sometimes ignored them. However, the Obama White House never ordered agencies to stop cooperating with Republican oversight requests altogether, making the marching orders from Trump’s aides that much more unusual.

“What I do not remember is a blanket request from the Obama administration not to respond to Republicans,” said a former longtime senior Republican staffer.

So, not the same as what Obama did. It seems much worse, in fact.

Doesn't the UK grant the opposition party official investigate powers to act as a watch dog?
I'm just thinking the minority would feel more engaged if they had the power not to be ignored.

Parliaments are (obviously) far different. Their intent is to create debate, not squash it (as is Congress' intent).

I think it's high time some sort of revision is made to way we handle things. The GOP in particular has gone out of their way to break and prevent any and all built in checks and balances. There needs to be some sort of non-elected/appointed group that lives beyond administration turn over that acts as a real watchdog group. Things have gotten FAR too partisan for any fair oversight to be performed.

I don't think Republicans should be OK with Republican obstructionism. The behavior is harming America even if one submits to the condition that Republicans are right with all of their platform.

It's not that Republicans are right, it's that liberals are uppity.

The problem is that there's no one who hates America and Americans as much as Republicans do. ISIS couldn't even dream of doing the damage to America that Trump and the GOP members of Congress are doing. Paul Ryan can't get an erection without imagining someone poor dying from lack of access to healthcare and Mitch McConnell suffers from ulcers if he doesn't attempt to ruin at least 20 lives of Americans a day.

He was told that his entire childhood and believes it deeply. That is why nothing you can possibly say to him will ever make him see it. His loyalty to the monsters that created him was all that allowed him to survive. He survived by allowing sanity to die. Children can't survive that kind of torture. The only way people like that recover is when loss and misery in their real lives causes their armor to crack. This is why they seek unconsciously to create what they fear. We all know unconsciously and paradoxically, that heaven is hidden behind the door of misery. This is why the conservative brain destroys what it should love.

People who worship Satan get very upset when you try to legislate what is good. They believe that Satan is God. Psychologically, they have experienced Stockholm syndrome. They live in constant fear they will be forced somehow to remember what happened to them, Life for them is one gigantic threat. They believe that love and openness make you weak because they had those things and were forced to give them up.

Second class? Welcome to the US since elections started. We're a winner take all nation. You win you get to manipulate committes. You have the tie breaking vote in the Senate. You pick the bureaucrats and set the policies.

You lose you lose. When the Dems had power the Republicans could say the same. If you don't belong to the Republican or Democrat party you never have a voice.

Welcome to my world.

Can't wait for the Dems to take over and apply this same dick move on the Repubs *just* to see how the Repubs react to it.

Should be fun to watch that.

In fact the Dems should choose a carbon copy of Trump (only liberal) next general election cycle and then we all can REALLY have a kick ass time watching the Repubs go insane over it.

Oh and let's not forget the 51 vote rule coming back around to haunt them. lol
