are dead pixels common on laptops?

i know they're pretty common on LCD's, but are laptops less likely to have dead pixels? do the manufacturers check laptops to make sure they dont have any?

I've owned 3 LCD screens so far, and I have yet to see a dead pixel. Not saying I don't have any, but I have never noticed them.

I have one LCD on my ibook and it has one dead pixel.

I have had 3 laptops, 2 of them have had dead pixels. None on current one yet.
I've seen dead pixles on everything, digicams, lcd's, laptops. It really doesnt matter.

My laptop has a red one that only shows when background is black. Doesn't bother me at all.
