Are DDR mobo's that much faster?

In the right programs, DDR is 10% faster than SDR on Athlon. But I will note that, with DDR mobo's the same price as SDR and the same for DDR RAm being priced the same as SDR, there's no reason not to go DDR right now.

DDR isnt that much faster...10-15% is what many benchmarks have shown. Of-course, with prices just about the same, there's no reason not to go with DDR...espeically b/c the industry is really moving towards DDR, and phasing out SDR (imo).

And...DDR just sounds cooler 😀😎

In this day and age, 10-15% IS a significant increase in performance. Especially in light of the fact that DDR can be had for essentially the same price as SDRAM. Just IMHO of course.
